Championship Banquet

This Years Championship Banque will be held at Unser Museum on a THURSDAY night on the 12th of November. Imagine that a week night, but I guess you can't expect more when you dont plan that but a few weeks before you should. Holiday season takes all the weekends. To top it off there will be no alcohol or soft drinks servered. You will have no choice but to drink their flavoried tea; Blah Blah Blah. I can not express my complete disappointment again with the tracks choice of descissions for a banquet. I feel that it is nothing but a slap in the face to the driver, sponsor, and crews to do this to them. Let there hair down and celebrate. Agaian Blah , Blah. Blagh.

Acutally the banquet turned out pretty nice. It was a better turn out then I imagined and the food was decent. Their tea was better after it had to be doctored up LOL. Our tables were the best looking of all. The men had long tail tux's with jeans and boots. Some wore the black felt cowboy hats and looked great. I will get the pictures to Mark so he had post on our album. Willis did a amazing job on his speech and presented all the crew with a free standing engraved glass plaque showing his graduate to each and every one of us for our help. Mark did a great job this year as usual keeping the website up and taking all the videos. We appreciate his effort so very much. And yes Mark was included with the crew in the tux and trophy.

Now to get ready for 2010 season. Not quite sure what all will be going on, just depends on the finances.

Congratulations to Willis on his championship season.Sounds like the banquet went really great.Mark sent a picture of his trophy but I had to chuckle about him being included with the crew.Glad the Gantt team had a good year and may it continue. Hope I can make the 800 mile trip next summer and take in a race.Happy holidays to all. Carl
